Fusion IIDA's Fashion Event
Fashion design, from interior design. Every day items, fixtures to be exact, are actually edgy fashion, waiting to be transformed. Take an assemblage of achromatic materials, fabric and wire for form, some stitching and zippers for good measure and see what we’ve made. Finally you add some sassy models who dare to wear, this latest look. Put it all together and you’ve got our intriguing fixture fashions!
An update on our Fusion progress.....
We have chosen a very fun theme for our three garments this year.
Construction methods have been interesting and we have had to use innovative materials and techniques. The first year students are almost finished with theirs and I hear it looks amazing.
The other two garments are well under way and we are hoping to make good progress this weekend.
We will be submitting a sketch for each garment along with a design concept statement that will be considered in judging. Jen has volunteered to use her great writing skills and draft up a statement for us.
We have had AWESOME teamwork so far which has made this such an enjoyable experience. It has been very exciting to be a member of this team.
Come out an support your class mates on November 14th! We just might take the big prize!!
